1. Who we are

"SubscriptionShame," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of subscriptionshame.com. The site is run independently and is not affiliated with the subscription services it lists.

2. Data we collect through the calculator

None. The subscription waste calculator runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The names, prices, and usage scores you enter are not transmitted to our servers and are not stored anywhere outside your device.

3. Data we collect through the website

Like most websites, we use third-party services that collect limited information automatically:

Hosting (Netlify): standard server logs (IP address, user agent, page requested, timestamp) for security and reliability.
Analytics: if enabled, a privacy-respecting analytics tool tracks aggregate page views and referrers without identifying individuals.
Advertising (Google AdSense, when active): Google may set cookies to serve and measure ads. Google's data practices are governed by its privacy policy. You can opt out of personalized ads via Google Ads Settings.

4. Cookies

We do not set first-party cookies for tracking. Third-party services (advertising networks, social embeds) may set their own cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

5. How we use information

Server logs and analytics are used solely to keep the site running and understand which content is helpful. We do not sell, rent, or share information with marketers.

6. Your rights — EU/UK users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to access, correct, port, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we don't operate a user database, in practice this usually means asking our hosting and advertising providers directly. 7. Your rights — global users

8. Your rights — California users (CCPA)

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act to know what personal information we collect (none, through the calculator), to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and to request deletion. 9. Children's privacy

SubscriptionShame is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. International users

SubscriptionShame is published in English with American pricing, but the tool is accessible worldwide. By using the site you understand that any data processed by our hosting and analytics providers may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
